bad writing
here is my sad article that I can not finish. any advice?
I am having an extremely hard time writing a review for “Lady in the water”…. This is what I have so far.
So the Narf needs a circle of hands and a prayer according to the cereal boxes. Yet, this must be done extremely soon otherwise a renegade Scrunt will break the Tartuniks laws and destroy this Queen Narf’s chance of riding the Great Eagle. On top of that no one has found the Guardian yet According to most critics M. Night Shamalan’s latest personal project Lady in the Water is a watered-down fairy tale with poor writing, silly plot twists and no big pay off. I couldn’t disagree more!
The point of every Shamalan film has nothing to do with the plot, nothing to do with the complex world of magic, mystery, and amazing twists at the end. Shamalan makes movies about families ability to reconnect. Signs is about forgiving one’s self and placing faith of family. The Village is about always trying to protect people you love and realizing in the end you will be forced to let them go and walk through life alone. The Six Sense is about leaning on family after trama and letting go of the past to more forward. Unbreakable is about the lonlyness of not knowing your place in the world and re-kendling love once you find that place.
Although Lady is a fairy tale told to Shamalan’s children it is a moralistic tale with wonderful metaphors about believing that every single person has a purpose in the world. Not in the Steve Martin Jerk type purpose. Coinciding with the release of the film a children’s book is being produced with magnificent illustrations. The product description by Hachette Book Group truly explains the purpose of the film version as well: “LADY IN THE WATER is an imaginative reading experience that inspires readers to observe the world around them and consider their purpose on earth.”
After extensive internet searching this universe of Shamalan’s devising shows only moderate appropriation from other source material. Perhaps viewers were expecting a new fable, a new lesson never before told. But bedtime stories exist to reinforce ancient laws rules and lessons.
